Naruma is a nonprofit start-up that aims to support and empower women as the backbone of society. Naruma is Latin for “backbone,” and the logo imitates that function using a unified, structured line of text that complements the organic shape of the spine. Likewise, the business card, letterhead, and envelope utilize the logo in a structured, consistent manor. The branding guidelines cover the specifications of each piece of this brand. My process of developing Naruma’s logo is represented in the mood board, sketches and digital renderings below.
Naruma’s mission and products are uniquely personal and handcrafted, so I designed this zine to showcase those features. Folded from an 8.5″ x 11″ sheet of paper, this two-sided zine is meant to be highly interactive, just like each of Naruma’s products.
